Why Driving a Station Wagon Doesn't Make Me a Soccer Mom

I'm loading up and driving "home" today. I'm quite excited about it actually. I'll get to sleep in my old bed and spend time with my mom and old friends! I've been sort of milling around the last week because work is finished and I don't start my next odd job until the first week of March. Joe and I thought it might be nice for me to go up north for a few days to get away from the city. My mode of transportation? The station wagon!

Things commonly associated with the stationwagon?
- soccer moms
- old people
- beaver board
- slow driving
- grandmas

Now, I'm just going to skip over the essay about how practical it is. The station wagon is so obviously practical it doesn't need to be argued. Instead I'll just get you to think back. The "wagon" has nearly always been the preferred mode of transportation! When hundreds of brave pioneer families set out across this fair land what did they travel in (besides canoes)? Wagons. When you were young chances are you had one. I'm going to take it further to say that even now that you're grown I bet you've wished you could be pulled around in one again. Be honest. Haven't you been out walking somewhere and seen a kid being pulled in a wagon by his/her parents and thought "I wish someone would pull me"?

I'm pulled by 145 horses, baby..

In my station wagon.
