Moving Day

On December 1st my mother-in-law has permission from the rest of the family to officially declare: "Tis the season!" And for the next several months you'll find knick-knacks on every surface and the sound of Christmas Carols streaming from the kitchen along with the most delicious smells.

Well, today is March 2nd and with packing tape in hand I am officially declaring: TIS THE SEASON! We're packing it all up and resting temporarily in Newmarket before making our final stop (at least for the next few years) in Guelph, Ontario. Why Guelph? It's smaller than Toronto and therefore more managable for my rural brain. Also, we know wonderful people who live in Guelph, they have a thriving arts scene and a very affordable cost of living. I'm excited!

Today marks the day we begin transitioning. I'm going to start in the bedroom and clean out all of the drawers and areas of the closet that have aquired junk. Most of it will be donated to Value Village and the rest will be going into the recycling or garbage. I'm playing with the idea of having an "apartment sale" whereby I invite my friends over to pick through everything before I donate stuff to the VV. That way they'd get some new stuff and I'd have a bit of money to help cover the cost of moving. Wooott!
