Just yesterday I was sitting on my mother's back porch. "Yes, I'll go to camp" Little did I know that would unleash desire to explore. A bloodthirst for discovery.
Just yesterday I was in my aunts livingroom taking ownership of a beat up, hand-me-down old fiddle.
Just yesterday I was walking through the courtyard of a castle in England, for that was the path from my bedroom to the coffee shop where I would buy a pack of gum that day.
Just yesterday I woke up on a beach on an abandoned island off of Halifax harbor to the sight of pawprints circling our tent. I'd heard her howl the night before but I didn't realise she'd come so close.
It was yesterday that my eye caught the sight of wild swans retreating from their rest on the Yukon river-- startled by the thundering whisper of my kayak in the water.
Yesterday I met a boy and he took me to dinner. We spoke of salvation and angels and demons. He loved me then, and I didn't know.
Yesterday I received a ring and he sang me a tune. He didn't know he was singing his way into a sweeping river of adventure.
Yesterday I rocked an unsuspecting Toronto bar with my bow, fiddle and with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Today my house is empty and it's quiet.
What's next?
