I guess the Lord was trying to teach me something.

Left backpack behind on the beach last night along with a wagon that belongs to the kids i was babysitting.. Didn't realise it until 4 hours later.
Contents:
- university applications
- passport
- wallet (visa, health card, drivers.. etc.)
- glasses&contact lens case
- journal i've been keeping daily for months
- bible
- novel
- swimsuit

Got a call from police at 6am.. found some of my stuff including most of the cards in my wallet.. (minus the wagon, backpack, passport, healthcard and the wallet itself) everything was thrown scattered all over the beach. The police went around with a garbage bag and grabbed what they could. The weirdest part is that i felt incredibly sad, but not because i lost my stuff-- its all just stuff. the more i thought about why it bothered me so much.. the more i realised if i'd lost all of this in a river or it got burned in a house fire that'd be one thing.. but in this case someone made a choice to take something from me because they had the chance. I suppose i like to assume those people don't exist around here.. and it sort of took me off guard that they do. It hurts my heart.
At any rate I got my journal back.. not to mention other things that most would consider 'important'. Ah, life lessons.

the journal certainly was the most important. Can't replace memories as they say

Yeah, it never feels good to be a victim. The more I get into litigation the more I realize that so many of the world's problems could be avoided if people just acted decently to one another.
