I've got cow poop on my birkenstocks again! It's good to be home!! Time for a rant...

I needed some solid time-out to just spend in prayer and in reflection.. So I drove home and took my dog Shadow for a walk through the back fields at the farm. It was a crisp autumn evening; the glorious autumn colours and the delicious autumn smells... it made for a perfect autumn adventure. We legged it through the cattle field-- they are nosey and run after me sometimes. I know they'd stop before they got to me but 30 cattle running at you is not something that makes you feel comfortable. Then we walked through the clover field and finally climbed through the thicket into the neighbours field and kept walking. Eventually all I could do was sit on a rock in amazement of the beauty around me (while Shadow sat close by eating bugs and grass)
Ever listen to a romantic song or read a poem that got to you? It can be so easy to fall in love with the writer-- to see enough of them in their art that you can't help but lose it. Tonight I sat there and God's heart was just all around me, reflected in everything... right down to the delicate little veins of the leaves that you could see as the sun set behind them. He took time to sketch them out! It doesn't get any better... I just feel so overwhelmed sometimes.
