I woke up and it was winter!

I'm safely inside my cozy house watching snow fall outside for the first time since last winter. I went to bed in a world of grey, bare nothingness-- soggy wet pavement and brown shriveled grass.. I woke up to a winter wonderland waiting outside my bedroom window! According to a friend of the family, there wasn't a flake of snow in the air OR on the ground at 5:30am thismorning when he drove to work. By 9:00am-- when I woke up, the entire city was blanketed in nearly a foot of snow.. Unforunately this has caused several accidents and has slowed things down quite a bit, but fortunately last week I made my appointment to have snow-tires put on my car.. ;) So today I'll be driving safe.

I love the snow. I love feeling invincible in my snowsuit. I lay in a snowbank and feel no coldness-- I jump from my roof and land in a safety-net of white powder.. I enjoy the quietness that the snow brings.. There's far less noise pollution while the snow is around to absorb it. I must say, I'm writing this from an "i'm on my day off and just slept in until 9am" perspective. I may see things differently as I drive to work at 6:30am tomorrow morning.. I'll let you know.

Quote of the Day:"How do you do? [pause] I do everyone I can." (Pretty run-of-the-mill wisecrack.. until you hear it from my 87y/o grandmother's mouth in the middle of her birthday party.. The best part is that she's not a dirty bird by any means.. It was so innocent.)

Jamie, when you said 'blizard in scarborough' you should have sat there with a sundae from dairy queen.. then you would have been right.
